Religion as Communication

Our universal world view has shown that there is a spiritual realm above the material universe and that the human mind can tune in to this realm. This opens up the possibility for communion between spiritual beings and human beings. It opens up the possibility that religion is a form of communication between the spiritual and the material realm.

In Shangra-la we believe it is natural and beneficial to strive for such communion. This section presents teachings and tools to help people develop such inner communion.

Religion Is a Form of Communication Between the Spiritual and the Material Realms
By establishing a universal world view and a universal approach to religion, we have accomplished a very significant feat. We have now set the stage for a new view of religion, a view that can help us overcome religious conflicts and divisions.

Resolving Religious Conflicts Through a Universal Approach
Our universal approach to religion, and the conclusion that religion is a form of communication between material and spiritual realms, opens up vast opportunities for resolving the factors that we earlier defined as the causes of religious conflict. Let us look at each of these factors and how we might resolve them in light of our new perspective on religion.

Personal Communion with the Spiritual Realm
In Shangra-la we believe it is possible for everyone to attain personal communion with the spiritual realm. We also believe it is essentail to strive for this communion. When your approach to spirituality is based on direct, inner experience rather than outer understanding, your spiritual life will be enriched immensely.
