| "Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares." (Heb 13:2) Most everyone has heard of angels. We know them as our protectors, teachers, guardians and friends. Some believe that they have even encountered them in the form of a human being. We have heard of many stories of these encounters where a mysterious stranger would show up just at the moment of dire need and assist the person who had fervently been praying for help, and then just as suddenly disappear after the assistance was rendered and help was no longer needed. Many people believe these are angels. What characterizes these acts and service into the title of being an angel? And are angels truly walking among us today? We learn through the Ascended Masters' Teachings that there are angels among us. Some of them are from the angelic bands and have volunteered to assist the evolutions in the physical plane, by taking on human form. Some have brought healing and truths, inventions and beauty as they incarnated among the people on earth. Many work from the Spirit to assist us, never taking on form. And some are here not because they want to be, but because of their rebellion against God's Will. They have fallen out of grace and have taken on form as they finish out their cycles of opportunity. The word angel is derived from the Greek word [aggelos], meaning messenger, and was sometimes translated as messenger throughout scripture. Indeed the angels have always been bringing their message to us, as recorded in the Bible. Angels were the first Beings created by God. They were the heavenly caretakers that God created to have in place before he created the Son out of which all the children of God descended out from. After the creation of the Son of God, the angels worshipped him as the incarnation of God, singing praises and heralding his birth. But something went amiss when a large group of the angels rebelled against the worship of the Son of God. It is recorded in Revelations,
Just as the good angels have come in to assist us, these fallen angels (those cast down) also took on human form. Lucifer is another name for Serpent who headed up the great rebellion in Heaven. The Serpent also led the sons and daughters out of Eden with his serpentine wiles. The story of the fallen angels was recorded in the Books of Enoch. We learn from the Teachings of the Masters that Jesus and the apostles studied these teachings of Enoch. But in the fourth century, the Church Fathers denounced, banned and cursed the book. Could they have suppressed these books because they revealed the true identity of the "wicked" the "tares" and the "serpents" and that angels could incarnate in human bodies? Those who have seen an appearance of Archangel Michael, or have called upon his name for his protection, know of his tremendous power and protection through his mighty sword of blue flame and his blue flame angels. We can invoke his presence in our lives by giving the Rosary to Archangel Michael and receiving his love as we send forth our love and gratitude for his guarding our right to Be on earth. The love for angels by many people on earth is tremendous. As we receive their pure love that is sometimes fiery, sometimes joyful and sometimes nurturing, we wonder at how we can survive without them. Besides Archangel Michael and Faith who guard our faith and the Will to Be, the Seven Archangels each bring a gift to help us with the development of our chakras. The loving Archangel Chamuel and Charity, teaching us facets of loving God in ourselves and each other. Archangel Jophiel and Christine teach us through wisdom, understanding the mind of God and expanding our crown chakra. They also assist us with discrimination and discernment. Our beloved Mother Mary and her consort, Archangel Raphael, have given us so much that words cannot express adequately our love for all the healing we have received from our blessed Mother and Raphael. There are seven Archangels and archeiai that have worked closely to help humankind. They are a part of the hierarchy of Nine Choirs or Orders of Angels. There are three main divisions or classifications of angels. Archangels are part of the third sphere, along with the principalities and angels. On the first sphere, are the highest order of angels known as the Seraphim. They serve as the caretakers of God's throne and continuously singing his praises: "Holy, holy, holy, Yahweh of hosts; all the earth is full of His glory." It is said that there are four of them surrounding God's throne, where they burn eternally from love and zeal for God. With the Seraphim in the first sphere are the Cherubim, serving outside the throne guarding the Light and the stars. And the Thrones that move with the Cherubim much like wheels. On the second sphere are Virtues, Dominions, Powers, Rulers and Authorities. Each has various duties of keepers, overseers, creators and carry out many duties related to the order and keeping of things in the Universe. The numbers of angels are vast, far outnumbering God's sons and daughters and children of the Light. With numberless numbers of angels moving in time and space, it behooves us to learn more about them and how to work with them. |
