The
Essential Question
Discourse VII
by Kim Michaels
November 17, 2002
The essential question facing Church Universal and triumphant at this
time is:
“Has the church ceased being the open door through which the Ascended
Masters can speak to their chelas and bring forth new teachings and
ideas?”
In other
words, if the Masters wanted to bring forth new ideas and teachings,
could they still do so through Church Universal and triumphant or would
they, as they have done in the past, have to go elsewhere?
Do you believe in the teachings?
To answer this question, it is necessary to consider another question:
“Do the leaders and members of this church truly believe in the
teachings of the church?”
To answer this question, it is necessary to consider another question:
“What is the most central aspect of the teachings of the Ascended
Masters?”
Is it not that the chelas of the Masters become Christed beings walking
the earth? If you are a Christed being, then you must have contact to
your Holy Christ self. If you have conscious contact with your Holy
Christ self, then you can, through your Holy Christ self, commune with
the entire Spirit of the Great White Brotherhood. At the level of the
Holy Christ self, all are one, as above so below.
Therefore, it would seem natural that if people sincerely apply the
teachings, they will gradually attain a more and more clear and open
contact with their Holy Christ selves. Therefore, it would seem natural
that as a chela builds this contact, the Ascended Masters can speak
directly to that chela without going through any messenger or institution
outside the chela’s own consciousness. There are many references
in the dictations of the Ascended Masters that talk about the goal of
having the chelas walk and talk with the Masters.
As the organization matures, it is predictable that more and more chelas
will attain a level of Christhood that enables them to commune with
the Masters. How is a chela supposed to deal with this inner communion?
Is the chela supposed to express it or deny it? If a chela decides to
express this communion, could it be expressed within the context of
the church, or would the person have to go elsewhere?
In other words, is the church as an organization open to seeing the
very fulfillment of what the Ascended Masters are working on, or will
the organization deny the Masters the fruits of their labor?
Progressive revelation
In a dictation given by El Morya in Washington D.C. in 1962 entitled
Welcome to Darjeeling (printed in the Book “Morya” on page
74 of the old version) he states that the Masters do not always speak
to us audibly. They often give us messages in our hearts.
Those who
are sensitive can receive their messages, whereas those who have dulled
their sensitivity can recognize that because they cannot hear, they
need to develop their spiritual hearing and vision. If these people
will recognize their deficiencies and realize that God can give them
these gifts, they can ask for the gift of attunement.
It seems clear to me that El Morya reserves the right to give messages
to his chelas. It seems clear that El Morya wants everyone to develop
spiritual vision and spiritual hearing. It seems clear that El Morya
is making the promise that anyone who sincerely asks for the gift of
spiritual vision and spiritual hearing will be granted that gift. It
seems clear that El Morya wants everyone to have this gift, and that
the key to attaining this goal is that the few must demonstrate the
gift before the many can attain it.
How could El Morya’s goal possibly be fulfilled if the church
continues to deny any chela the right to receive ideas or teachings
directly from the Masters? Is not the whole idea of community that people
share and that a few inspire the many to come up higher? How can this
sharing take place if church culture effectively denies chelas the right
to share a message or idea that they have received from the Masters?
Why would the church prevent people from demonstrating that their chelaship
has produced good fruit—the fruit of direct communion with the
Masters?
The second coming
In a dictation given in Atlanta in 1992 (entitled: “Are you Ready
for the Second Coming?”), Jesus calls his chelas to attain a level
of con-sciousness where they can walk the earth as his twin. What is
the purpose of walking the earth as the twin of Jesus Christ? Is it
not that Jesus can work through you, as above so below? If Jesus is
working through you, is it not possible that he would want to bring
forth new teachings and ideas by speaking through his twin? In other
words, how could you possibly become the twin of Jesus Christ and at
the same time deny Jesus Christ the right and opportunity to speak through
you?
The central issue is: “Has current church culture, a culture created
and sustained by both leaders and members, thrown the baby out with
the bath water?”
Is current church culture, in effect, promoting the teachings of the
Ascended Masters while at the same time denying the Masters and their
chelas the opportunity to harvest the fruits of those teachings?
This church likes to refer to itself as the community of the Holy Spirit.
How can an organization be the community of the Holy Spirit if the members
of that organization are denied the opportunity to express the gifts
of that Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit blows where it listeth. It is no
respecter of persons. If you deny the Holy Spirit the opportunity to
express itself freely, it will go elsewhere. If you create an elitist
culture, saying that the Holy Spirit can express itself only through
a small elite, then it will also go elsewhere, as was amply demonstrated
by the Catholic church. In the early days of Christianity, many people
had the gift of the Holy Spirit. As the organized church began to form,
no one had the gift. If you deny the right of one person to be the open
door, you deny that right to everyone in your organization.
This Church is meant to be part of the Gnostic or mystical tradition
that the Masters has sponsored throughout the ages. Instead, it is in
danger of becoming the Catholic Church of the Aquarian age!
Avoiding the trap of dogmatism
If you truly love the masters and their work through the ages, then
you must seriously consider how the church could avoid falling into
the trap that almost every other major religion has fallen into, the
trap of dogmatism.
Remember your first love. What attracted you to this organization? Was
it not a deep inner love for the Masters and their teachings? If so,
then recognize that love and express it by communing with the Masters
in your own heart. Ask them what they want to see for this organization
and how you can personally help bring it about. Then, have the courage
to share your insights. Make an effort to change current church culture
so that this church can become a vibrant living Church of the Holy Spirit
and not a church dominated by outer doctrines filled with dead men’s
bones.
Make an effort to commune directly with the Ascended Masters. Do not
deny your ability to do this! Ask honestly, and you will receive an
answer. Then, have the courage to share that answer with others and
demand that the church, from leadership to members make a sincere effort
to change current church culture and to allow the Ascended Masters to
speak through their organization and through their chelas.
It is not too late, but the clock is ticking. The New Age is descending
into the physical octave. If the church does not change its culture,
it will not be the focal point of that New Age. It will simply be sidestepped
as the energies of Aquarius will find another way to express themselves
on planet earth. This church was meant to be the open door which no
man can shut. Yet, since the Messenger stopped functioning as a messen-ger,
the door has been closing gradually, but surely.
This trend can still be reversed, but it will take a determined effort
to do so. If you sit back, the outcome is predictable. You must choose
whether to be a Christed one who dares to commune with your God or whether
to remain in the consciousness of fear that causes you to deny that
the open door which no man can shut is located inside your heart. If
the Ascended Masters wanted to bring forth a new idea through you, could
they? If they did give you a message or idea, would you have the courage
to share it and to act upon it?
If the answer is yes, then you must acknowledge the need to form a network
of people who are not afraid to say: “Yes, I commune with my God!”
Consider the questions: “How could such a network be established?
Is it possible to establish such a network in association with the church?”
Then, share your thoughts on this matter and do not allow anyone to
silence the inner voice of change.
